ROXTON & DAUVIN 2012 UK TOUR

During July 2012 Steve Roxton & Jean Dauvin presented their “Accordion Spectacular” throughout the UK. The show which certainly lived up to it’s name, started off in Somerset at the summer Mecca for the UK accordion scene, St Audries Bay near Minehead. To a delighted crowd of accordionists from clubs all over Britain, they re-enacted their first meeting  some 12  years earlier. Jean had visited Jersey for a jumelage between St Helier and Avranches, and heard Steve playing “Bal Musette” favourites to a large crowd in the Peoples Park. Being a world champion and orchestra leader in his native Normandy, he never travels without an accordion and came up behind Steve and joined in. The musicianship of the two blended so perfectly that people were astonished that they had never played together before and from this fortuitous meeting a remarkable friendship was formed, leading to the idea of doing a show together.

The success of St Audries was repeated time and time again throughout the tour at North Staffs Accordion Club, Stockport Accordion Club, Middlesbrough Accordion Group, Rosley Village Hall Cumbria and finally at  The Black Country Accordion & Music Club in Rowley Regis in the Midlands. Many people bought DVD’s and CD’s. The CD Roxton & Dauvin “Entente Accordiale” is available on this site. see SHOP
